Dr. Ahmed Hijazi is a local Londoner and proud Western University Alumni, having completed his Undergraduate Degree and Medical School training at Western followed by his Postgraduate Residency Training through the Rural Stream of the Western University Family Medicine Program. He is establishing a comprehensive family medicine practice and has an interest in acute care, emergency medicine, patient advocacy, men’s health, evidence-based preventative care, and has an acquired skill set to perform a wide spectrum of in-office procedures. He is excited to be establishing his career as a member of the Central Lambton Family Health Team and to be practicing family medicine in rural Lambton County.

Dr. Paxton Moon graduated from the MD/Ph.D. program at Western University in London, ON in 2019 and went on to complete his residency training in Family Medicine at the Petrolia site. During both medical school and residency training Dr. Moon had the privilege of working and learning at Central Lambton Family Health Team and those overwhelmingly positive experiences led him to choose Rural Lambton community to begin his practice through joining the health team. He looks forward to taking on new patients and providing both Emergency room and inpatient care at the Charlotte Eleanor Englehart
Hospital.

Kelly Poore, Board Chair of Central Lambton Family Health Team said “There is an ever-growing need for primary care practitioners in Central Lambton. We are excited and proud to welcome Dr. Hijazi and Dr. Moon to our rural community and to our Team. As always, the ongoing hard work and dedication of the Central Lambton Family Health Team’s Physician Recruitment Committee and the support of the CEEH Foundation is greatly appreciated.”

Dr. Daniel, Lead Physician of the Family Health Network, said “We are thrilled that Drs. Hijazi and Moon have chosen to start practicing in Petrolia. They were part of Petrolia’s family medicine residency program. They are well versed with many aspects of rural health care and have already smoothly transitioned and are deeply involved in community and hospital-based care.”

Sarah Milner, Executive Director of the team, said, “The timing couldn’t be better as there is a need for additional primary care physicians in our rural community. Both Dr. Hijazi and Dr. Moon completed their medical residency with Central Lambton Family Health Team and we are pleased they chose our group to start their careers as family physicians.”
