PETROLIA, ON. The Central Lambton Family Health Team (FHT) announced to today that it has received funding for Phase 1 of its operation from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. The money will enable the FHT to begin staffing and office set up.

Mary-Pat Gleeson, Chair of the Board of the Central Lambton Family Health Team, said, “This is great news and underscores the Ministry’s support of our communities’ ongoing efforts to provide residents with the best care possible. The Family Health Team will focus on prevention and chronic disease management as well as provide excellent primary care.”

The Central Lambton Family Health Team will consist of seven family physicians and seven allied healthcare professionals including nurse practioners, nurses, a dietician, a social worker and a pharmacist. As the FHT continues to grow additional allied healthcare professionals and doctors will be included. The Board recently placed advertisements in local papers for these positions and received over 90 applications, many of which came from Central Lambton County and adjacent communities.
